Back again AND it is Now Fall!

A sunny day for an ARtist Talk

Okay, I took a hiatus from writing, as the summer season was pretty busy.

Lots of wonderful people stopping in and the weather was either divine or horrible depending on which part of the country you live.

The gallery just opened a new show, MiXeD ElEmenTS  with paintings by Caroline James and Michael Dickter, I was so pleased to see so many collectors, friends and artsists attend his artist talk.

Thank you.

Michael spoke for thirty or so minutes telling the stories of how he paints, where his inspiration is derived from, and what all those transitional pencil marks are about on the surface of his paintings and how he achieves that textured and permanent surface.

Stop by and see this show which is up till September 28.
I return to writing this blog on an irregular basis about artworks, artists and events that happen at WaterWorks Gallery, in Friday Harbor, on San Juan Island  and the greater Pacific Northwest or wherever I travel and find something of interest to me and perhaps to you.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers

About ruthoffen

Created by, Ruth Offen the founder/director of WaterWorks Gallery, a gallery opened in 1985 to showcase contemporary artists and jewellers that live and work in the Pacific Northwest. The gallery is on an San Juan Island in the Salish Sea.[ North Puget Sound] Pretty amazing place. While continuing to curate the gallery after 33 years, I'm decided to spend more time enjoying life by traveling, creating art with photography and dancing tango. Over many decades of amassing a personal art collection, now the process of downsizing is becoming a reality. How do we have more with less? Staying true to the motto, unencumbered by our possessions and not burdening our children with our stuff. This next process will take patience and courage.
