A while ago I visited the studio oh painter, Michael Dickter in the Studio C building in Ballard. Great big airy old building, big beams and old floors.
I was stopping in to see Michael and the new work he is creating for his upcoming show at the gallery.
I think the graphic but the painterly qualities in his work are very unique to Michael.
His imagery is very transitory.. The intentional drips help to create the illusion of space and could even
be thought of as time signatures as in music.
I always look forward to seeing what new creatures will walk, fly or frolic in his mixed media paintings. I do see a moose!
The show opens Saturday, June 14.. should be fabulous.
